Dear Members of the University Community,

I am writing to share the External Review Report and Recommendations on Diversity and Inclusion.

I want to thank everyone who met with the external reviewers, as well as those who submitted reports and other information to them. I also want to thank everyone who has worked over the years to create and steward the existing diversity and inclusion efforts.

Together, you have helped identify challenges and establish priorities and approaches for a set of bold, decisive actions that will allow us to make meaningful and lasting progress in our efforts to build a more diverse and inclusive university.

I hope you will take some time to read the report, and I look forward to working with you in the coming months to review the report and discuss how to move forward based on its recommendations.

I want to thank the external review team for their thorough and insightful work. They have delivered a set of concrete recommendations that will guide us to a sustainable, ingrained and organized approach to building a diverse, inclusive university community.

Best regards,

Robert J. Jones
